Since we’ll be coming back to Davao this November, We’ve thought of listing our top 10 based on our trip last 2011.
#1. Jack’s Ridge – the best time to come here is during the night where you can see the view of Davao while having a sumptuous dinner. It is also a great place to take pictures because of the nice landscape. The city lights, food, singing group that will serenade you while eating, perfect for a great dinner.
#2. Pearl Farm Beach Resort - We so love this place that we recommend it to everyone who goes to Davao. The place is so beautiful, the service is so nice, and the food is really really great. What would you ask for? A day tour is already okay as staying overnight is quite expensive... but if you have the money, why not?! It will also be nice if you can book your trip to Pearl Farm on a weekday from Monday to Thursday as it is a little cheaper compared to Friday, Saturday and Sundays. You might be interested to read our post and see pictures of the place here.
#3. Whitewater Rafting - Rafting is very close to our hearts that we can’t afford to ignore it when we go to a new place. This activity is a must try especially for those who love adventure. So, go forward... backward... and shout High Five!!!
=#4. People’s Park – We suggest you go here on your first day. The park is just around the corner and you can ride a jeepney or taxi to go there. There are lots of more than life size statues, nice landscapes, and big Philippine eagle. And what’s great with this is it’s free, you don’t need to pay any entrance fee!
#5. Crocodile Park – When we went here, “Pangil”, is still the second largest crocodile in captivity. But since “Lolo” was found in Agusan del Norte, I think “Pangil” is only the 3rd now. This is also the first time I found a lot of crocodiles, as in a lot of them. You can also find other animals and birds like in a zoo.
When you go to crocodile park, you’ll pass by the Butterfly Park so make sure you also go inside it especially if you love flowers and butterflies. I don’t think I need to tell you what you’ll see here as it is so obvious, isn’t it?
Also beside the Crocodile park is a park where you’ll see the indigenous tribes and culture of our ancestors. It is a nice tour to bring you back to our past and learn our history.
#6. Food trip – Of course, when you go to a new place, you want to experience everything that is unique to them. And when you hear about Davao, what comes to your mind? You’re right! Durian! A fruit that does not smell good but tastes great! So why not try it where it is coming from! It is also suggested to visit the Durian Candy Factory to buy some pasalubong to your loved ones and taste their durian ice cream! Mangosteen products are also everywhere. You’ll not only satisfy your taste buds but will also give your body a healthy snack and dessert.
We’ve also tried their deep-fried hito. It’s a must try for any visitors. There are also lots of restaurants in the city where you can try Davao’s food and satisfy your cravings.
#7. Eden Nature Park – For those who love trekking, this is the place for you. But if you don’t have the luxury of time and want to just have a quick view of the whole place, they have a short trip to tour you around. The tour also includes a free lunch.
#8. Philippine Eagle Center – This is also a big sanctuary of birds especially our dearest Philippine Eagle. You’ll be amazed by how big their cages are. It would be a lot nicer if they can freely fly outside open in the air but since they are already near to be extinct, taking care of them and making ways to increase their population is also a good way to prevent them from extinction.
#9. Malagos Garden Resort and Orchid Farms – We were not able to visit this place because we came at 5:30pm and they are already closed. They say Lechon tastes good here and the place is really beautiful. So, we’ve put this in our list to visit next time.
#10. Mt. Apo – being the highest mountain in the Philippines, every mountaineer dreamt of climbing it. It is also in our bucket list. In time, with enough preparation and proper training, we will be able to climb it. For now, we’ll just have to view it from the beautiful Pearl Farm Beach Resort.
Have I mentioned that Davao is a smoke-free city? Yes it is. And from our experience, I can say that the people here are disciplined and friendly. Also, like in Baguio, the taxi drivers charge passengers just the exact amount and will give you your change no matter what.
So, book your trip now and enjoy Davao, the largest and beautiful city in the Philippines!
Until then!
So stunning. Definitely going to add this to my list of things we want to do with the family in the next few years. So glad you are willing to share your pictures..thanks!

Some of the key factors that can influence the cheap tour package are inclusive of monetary limitation, the number of people planning to travel among other considerations. One of the easiest ways to find service providers that can provide cheap package holiday resort is to go online. Make Yatra Easy
